Hi everyone – hope you’re having a great day. I’m still trying to get over this bronchitis that I’ve had, I think this is my second week, and I don’t know whether I caught it from somebody or if it started out as allergies and ended up as bronchitis, with the extreme changes in the weather we’ve had around here lately. Anyway I’ll be so glad when I’m feeling better .
Today’s card features the Vivid Vases Stamp Set. I don’t know why it took me so long to order this but I finally got it! I’ve seen so many cute cards out there that I decided that I would try my hand at making a cute card.
One of the easiest things about designing a card is if you select designer series paper first then you know exactly what colors to use to color in the images and what color of card stock to use to either contrast or complement the designer series paper. So that is what I did in this case. I selected the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper and then selected the coordinating colors of ink and card stock. The colors can be found in the back of each DSP package.
I inked up the single stamp with our permanent ink which is called Jet Black Stazon Ink. I stamped the image on our watercolor paper and then I lightly colored in the vases with our Basic Black Classic Ink and and an Aqua Painter. Each of the flowers were colored in with the coordinating’s stamping write markers. In this case I used the Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit. The twine I used to tie the bow on the lower left hand corner is also a FREE item that you get with a qualifying order. It is called the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack. Now back to the card! The flower vases were layered with Pool Party Card Stock and then mounted on the on the card with the Stampin dimensional’s just to make them pop out a little. The base card is Basic Black Card Stock.
