Technique Tuesday:  Masking

And so my masculine cardmaking-athon continues!    Three down and four to go!

  1. Card for David
  2. Card for Michael
  3. Card for Bob (see below)

Today’s card features the Walk in the Wild Stamp Set and the technique is called masking.

What is masking?  Masking makes it look as though one image is behind another, creating the illusion of depth. The image you stamp first is the one that will appear in front.  The second image will look as though it’s partially behind the first.

  1. Stamp the image twice once on a post-it-note and the second time on the card stock.
  2. Carefully cut around the image on the post-it-note and lay the mask over the other stamped image (the one on the card stock).
  3. Using MDS, create the background for the moose.   I used the pine tree from the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Brush Set.
  4. Feed the card stock that has the masked image through your printer.
  5. Remove the masking and cut card stock to 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″
