Joyful Christmas

By | November 10, 2013

me at Cafe du MondeAs you may know, I just returned from the 1st SIMB (Stamping is my Business) Live event in New Orleans.  I took one day to go sightseeing before heading home and the Café du Monde was on my list to visit.   This is my 3rd trip to New Orleans and the lines were always long to get in so I considered myself lucky that there wasn’t any lines that day.  I loved the Café au lait and the beignets, I even brought back the coffee to make and mix to bake some beignets!

I have all the pictures I took in New Orleans on Facebook if you are interested.

I couldn’t take my stampin’ supplies with me to New Orleans but I did have my laptop and MDS.   Love that MDS.  I was able to work on a couple of cards and scrapbooking pages and I’ll post those in the next couple of weeks.  Here’s one of the ones I worked on while I was in there.

These are the images I used on the My Digital Studio:

  1. Trees:  Lovely as a Tree Stamp Brush Set
  2. Silhouettes :  Welcome Christmas Stamp Brush Set
  3. Sentiment:  A Cardinal Christmas Stamp Brush Set

When I got back, I was able to print them out and add the images to card stock and pattern paper.  The designer series paper is the Etcetera  Designer Series Paper.   I brushed Whisper White Craft Ink all over the  front of the DSP and then embossed it using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.

flowerThe poinsettia is from the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set from the Holiday catalog.

I stamped the image with Versamark Ink, added White Embossing Powder and then set it with the Heat Gun.  I then cut out the center petals with Paper Snips to make the smaller poinsettia.  Added Pearls to the center of the poinsettia and adhered it to the front of the card.

The base card is Old Olive
