Choosing Sunflower Fields Over Golden Glow: A Happy Thanksgiving Card

I started with the Golden Glow Designer Series Paper (DSP) (August’s Product of the Month), but I just couldn’t bring myself to cut into it! 😅 I’ve had it a whole month now and still can’t do it — at this rate, fall will be over before I ever use it, and I’ll be stuck waiting until next autumn to break it out! So for today’s card, I’m using the Sunflower Fields DSP instead — some paper is just too pretty to cut into yet

Card Measurements:

Sunflower Fields DSP (12″ x 5 1/4″)
Cajun Craze Cardstock (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) (Base)
Very Vanilla Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 3 3/4″) (Interior)
Very Vanills Cardstock (3 1/2″x 3 1/4) (Circle)
Mossy Meadow Cardstock scraps for leaves

Card Instructions:

I cut all the paper according to the measurements listed above, then scored the DSP at 2″, 4″, 8″, and 10″. After that, I marked 2 inches down from both sides of the card panels — you can see exactly how it all lines up in the template below.

Next, I cut triangles on the score line and adhered them to the two panels of the DSP. I attached the DSP to the base card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Since I didn’t have a stamp set that included “Happy Thanksgiving,” I computer-generated the sentiment in Cajun Craze, printed it out, and attached it to the bottom of the two panels.

Next, I cut the circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies and embossed it with the Rusted Check 3D Embossing Folder, then set it aside. I fussy cut the sunflower from the DSP and attached it to the front of the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I cut leaves from the Nature’s Sympathy Dies using Mossy Meadow Cardstock, snipped them into three pieces, and attached them under the sunflower with glue. I added the circle to the left side panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside, I attached it to the DSP and added a small sunflower sticker from the Autumn Fields Sticker Sheet to the lower right-hand corner. I also used the same DSP on the envelope flap as I did on the front of the card.
