The Sunset Coast Bundle is one of those collections that just takes your breath away. It includes coordinating stamps and dies that work together beautifully to create detailed oceanfront scenes complete with sailboats, seashells, rock formations, and lighthouses. Add in the Sunset Coast Designer Series Paper and you have everything you need to build stunning, layered scenes. The sentiments are perfect for retirement, anniversary, or “new adventure” cards too!
This bundle brings back so many memories for me. When we lived in California in the 1980s and 90s, we spent a lot of time sailing the Channel Islands, and this DSP captures that beauty perfectly. At the north end of Anacapa Island, there was a rock formation just like this one — carved out over time by the sea. The opening was too small to actually sail through, but it was absolutely gorgeous to see up close! 🌊⛵

To make this card, start by cutting your Basic White Cardstock for the card base and a layer of Basic Black Cardstock slightly smaller to create a clean, crisp border.Next, trim your Sunset Coast Designer Series Paper to fit as the focal layer — the gorgeous pre-colored artwork does all the heavy lifting here, so no additional coloring is needed! 🌅

Once your DSP is trimmed, stamp the rock formation image from the Sunset Coast Bundle directly onto the DSP using Tuxedo Black ink. Then stamp the seagull image from the Relaxing Waterside Stamp Set, also in Tuxedo Black, positioning it in the upper portion of the scene for a natural, realistic look.

Using the Sunset Coast dies, die cut two sailboats from Basic Black Cardstock and tuck them into the scene along the water line. The solid black silhouettes against that stunning sunset background are just perfection! ⛵Layer your DSP onto the Basic Black Cardstock, then adhere that to your Basic White card base.To finish, add three Neutral Matte Dots in the lower right corner for a simple but polished finishing touch. ✨

For the inside of the card, I added a strip of the Sunset Coast Designer Series Paper along the bottom of a Basic White Cardstock layer, then stamped the birthday greeting in Tuxedo Black ink and added the sailboat die cut from the Sunset Coast Dies. I also added a strip of the same DSP to the envelope flap for a cohesive, finished look!
