It’s not just for books anymore!

By | July 4, 2012

Hi Stampin' Friends

Today's card features the Ex Libris Background Stamp.  Though it's a bookplate and for books, I decided to make a card with it.

Ex-Libris copy
Mark ownership of books and other personal items with this exquisitely designed stamp, reminiscent of engraved European bookplates from the Middle Ages. Or pop it in a cellophane bag with a Classic Stampin' Pad and tie with grosgrain ribbon for a unique and thoughtful gift!

Top-of-sentimentI stamped the image on Very Vanilla Card Stock with Versamark and embossed it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I lightly sponged it with Perfect Plum Classic Ink all over and Pretty in Pink Classic Ink on the upper part of the card.

ButterflyThe butterflies were punched out of Perfect Plum Card stock and Pretty in Pink Card Stock using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  They were then embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

To get the layered look, I cut the Pretty in Pink butterfly in half and layered it with the Perfect Plum butterfly so that there was 1/16" showing on both sides.

RibbonThe ribbon is the Perfect Plum 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.  I very loosly ruched the ribbon and pulled at the thread on the ends of the ribbon with a paper piercing tool to give it a distressed look.

Thanks for stopping by today
