‘Hello Sunshine’ Card: Combining Digital Sunflower Art with Stampin’ Up! Supplies

By | October 2, 2024

Good Afternoon my Stampin’ Friends!

Without a current sunflower stamp set from Stampin’ Up!, I got creative with my card design. I turned to my favorite digital artist and downloaded a beautiful sunflower image instead. This digital approach allowed me to incorporate the cheerful sunflower theme I wanted, while still using other Stampin’ Up! products for the rest of the card.

Today’s card features a beautiful sunflower design. The focal point is a hand-drawn and colored illustration of two sunflowers – one in full bloom and another partially open. The flowers are rendered in vibrant Daffodil Delight with Old Olive stems and leaves, set against a Basic White background. The illustration has a slightly sketchy, artistic quality with some loose ink splatters adding texture using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and the retired Color Spritzer Tool.

The sunflower illustration is framed by a black border with slightly rough, torn-looking edges (Deckled Rectangle Dies), giving it an artisanal feel. This framed artwork is mounted on a larger Basic White Cardstock panel that has a subtly embossed texture from the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, resembling a brick or stone pattern.

To maintain design continuity, the interior follows a similar style, though the personal message has been blacked out for privacy. The envelope flap is decorated with patterned paper from the retired Delightful Eclectic Designer Series, adding a coordinating touch to complete the overall presentation.
