For todays’ card, I’m using the Timeless Talk Clear Mount Stamp Set which includes images from the early 19th century, when telephones, recorders, and bicycles were the latest new fad!
The hair world borrowed the term ‘Ombre’ from the French word meaning shaded or shading. In art, it means beautiful color gradation.
In case you are not familiar with the technique, you color across (back and forth) on a piece of windows sheet using various Stampin’ Write Markers. In this case, I used Old Olive, Island Indigo and Early Espresso.
You then spritz the Window Sheet with a water spray bottle (I did it 3 times) and then lay the window sheet on a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock. You can either set it aside to dry or dry it with your Heat Gun.
I tried the technique twice because the 1st time, I thought it was too dark so I went easier on the colors the 2nd time (see top photo)
You know, now that I am looking at the photo’s, I think maybe the order of the colors should have been Indigo Island, Early Espresso and then Old Olive! Oh well…..
Tip: I used the Washi Tape from the Epic Day This & That collection but because you can see through it, I added a strip of Very Vanilla Card Stock. If not, it would have blended it into the background pattern paper.
