Happy Birthday in a Box

By | September 29, 2012

Hi Stampin' Friends

Sunday's the last day to take advantage of the FREE RIBBON and FREE INKPAD for every $40.00 you spend.  Click here for all the information.

I'm calling today's card "Happy Birthday in a Box" because when I mail it, I can't put it in an envelope – I have to use a box that's at least 3/4" inch high!

Petite-Pairs copy
The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs Clear Mount Stamp Set.  This set has a double sentiment for just about every occasion!  One sentiment for the outside, the other sentiment for the inside of the card.  In this case, it's "Happy Birthday Wishes" for the outside and "to someone who makes others so happy!" for the inside of the card.

Criss-crossThe top part of the card was scored using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate.   It's called diagonal cross hatch and I think it's available in an embossing folder (I saw it somewhere on Pinterest).

The bottom was embossed using the  Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

RosesThe flowers were made using the Mini-Rolled Roses Die using Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Wonderful Wisteria Card Stock.

The leaves were punched out using the Bird Punch.  I also used the wings for leaves.  They were embossed using the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder and then sponged on the edges with Old Olive.

Thanks for stopping by today

What a beautiful card, Rachel! Very clever using the bird’s wings for leaves, and I like the embossing on them too. I think you’ll have to teach me how to do those mini rolled roses! Yours look GOOD! I seem to get mine too tight for some reason.
