3 ways to stop the demo hop

It's one of the most frustrating aspects of owning your own stamping business…you work like crazy to please your customers and they jump from one Demo to another looking for the lowest price.

You find yourself asking… "Where's the loyalty?"

While you can never completely eliminate the customer who hops from one stamping business owner to another, there are several things you can do to mitigate it.

Here are three of them:

1. Stop linking to the blogs of other stamping business owners!  In addition to this being bad for your search engine optimization, you're making it really easy for your customers to see if someone else is undercutting you (and someone always is).  Whether it's a blog roll or a blog hop, sending your customers to your competition rarely makes good sense.

2. Get on the phone!  If you want to set yourself apart and stop competing on price, add value to relationship you have with your customer!  Make sure you're calling them on a regular basis to see if they have any questions and guarantee their paper crafting needs are being met.  Creating this bond will make a customer think twice before even temporarily jumping ship.

3. Create an easy way for your customers to invest in your business!  This was covered extensively in our free webinar Monday – Increasing Customer Loyalty and Retention (and Your Bottom Line)!  Creating a "nano continuity" program where you deliver a small amount of content each month for a small monthly fee allows you to evolve your subscriber base from a group of tire-kickers to one with a vested interest in you and your business.  Because of this committment, they're MUCH less likely to hop around.
