Christmas Rose

By | December 6, 2009

Good Morning Stampers!

I was digging through my paper looking for some Christmas paper and I came across this one. It's called Holiday Treasures and retired about a year ago (I think!).  I decided to pair it with the retired stamp set Christmas Cardinal which retired a couple of year ago.  I usually sell my stamp sets as soon as they retire (except for those that I can't bear to part with)  because I want to make room for the new ones.  And yes, I did sell this one, but then I regretted it and almost bought one on e-bay but when I told one of my customer about buying on e-bay, she mentioned that she had one and would sell it to me.  So I have one of my beloved stamps set back with me.  But I ramble!  Anyhoo, here's the card.

Christmas-Rose copy

I made this card for the 411 sketch challenge No. 128 and changed it a little in that the sketch is in portrait and this one is in landscape.   Isn't this a beautiful card?  I think so but I think mainly it's because of the image - it reminds me of old fashion roses.

 Rose
The image was stamped with Brown Timber Stazon on watercolor paper and colored in using the Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and close to Cocoa inks.  The center of each rose is colored using the So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker.

Score-line I don't know if you can see it but I embossed a line to form frame about 1/4 inch from the edge of the watercolor paper.

The stamps sets on the dormant list are retiring on 4 January 2009 so if you have one on the list that you've been waiting or wanting to buy, now is the time to buy it.  Also, until 15 December you can get 20% off each stamp set on the list, so check it out!  All the details are here….

Thanks for visiting today.

The DSP and the image coordinate beautifully. If I made that lovely card, I don’t think I could part with it.

Rachel — this is so lovely. Beautiful colors and textures and wonderfully done! Great way to use this week’s sketch. Thanks for playing along with the Stamping 411 Operators. We hope you’ll take the challenge again! Blessings, Gretchen
