Good Morning Stampers
Here's another card that I made outside my comfort zone. I find that masculine and trendy cards are so hard for me to make. And I don't why that is so.
But make them I must and this card is for my son-in-law Gary who lives out in Sunny Southern California. My daughter Deena wanted a barbecue theme card because Gary loves to barbecue but I don't have anything like that. I know we carried such a stamp set about a year ago but it has since retired so I went with the Voila stamp set which has been a favorite of mine since it came out.
The chef was stamped using Basic Black Classic ink on Whisper White card stock. His pants, cuffs and neckerchief was paper pieced using the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack from the Occasions Mini. This paper was also used for the background of the card.
The sentiment was stamped using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink.
I used the Photo Corner punch to decorate the upper right and lower left side of the main image. Black Brads from the Vintage Brads line made a striking contract to the corners.
Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon added the final touch to the card. Didn't want to tie a knot or bow because he might think it's too "foo-foo" for him.
Thanks for stopping by today!
