Fond Farewell to Lovely Lilac

By | April 18, 2010

Good Morning Stampers:

Opener

So many of my favorite colors are going away this June but I know that I will have new favorites come July!  Lovely Lilac is a favorite from the Rich Regals Family.  Today's card features Lovely Lilac and Almost Amethyst – two colors that will be retiring.  I also used Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set which is 20% off this month.

I really liked how this card came out.  Though both my mother and grandmother are gone, I still make Mother's Day Cards and give them to my daughters.  I want them to know how proud I am of them and how wonderful mothers they are.

  1. I stamped flower image on Whisper White card stock with Basic Black Classic Ink three times. The flowers were then lightly Flowercolored in using Almost Amethyst and Lovely Lilac Classic Ink pads and an aqua painter and then cut out with the paper snips.
  2. I stamped the sentiment (from the stamp set All the Holidays) on the Sending Love Notes – Hugs using Lovely Lilac Classic Ink. Can you believe that this is the first time I've used the notes?
  3. The leaves were punched out with the small oval punch, scored down the middle and then folded in half before running them through the crimper.
  4. I took a piece of Almost Amethyst (4" x 5 1/4") and put it through the big shot using the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder. Polka Dots always remind me of spring!  I added the organza ribbon to give it an elegant look.
  5. The flowers and leaves were attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Everything else was layered and adhered as shown in the photo.

In addition to the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, there are three other Spring themed stamp sets on sale through 30 April at a whopping 20% discount.

    Hi Rachel,

Well purple is my absolutely favoritest color, and I love the Fifth Ave. floral set – so this makes your card A #1 – I love love love it. It is too bad some of the SU purples are going bye-bye 🙁 Doesn’t look like the purple color selection will be as varied either….Mary L

Oh my…this is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Sort of made me a little emotional because my mom passed away quite a few years ago but it’s still as fresh as if it was yesterday. I know she would have loved to receive a card like this one. Even though Lilac and Amethyst are leaving, I’m sure there will be other colors that would make this card just as beautiful.
