Good Morning Stampers
One of the good things about making several cards ahead of time is that when a birthday comes up, all you have to do is go into your stash and pick a card that you think they may like. With the card already made and signed, you have plenty of time to whip up a small gift. In this case, I decided to make a bird house using the Milk Carton Die from the Occasions Mini. Even though the sales period for that mini is gone, I think it will carry over into the big catalog. I hope so anyway because I really like using this die. It makes the cutest bird house in no time.
Very Happy Ending! When my friend received this bird house, she said she had to buy the die and 2 step bird punch to make some bird houses. She went home and placed an online order through my website. I love happy endings!
Card:
- The image was stamped on watercolor paper with Jet Black Stazon. I then stamped the flower part a second time on a scrap piece of watercolor paper. I colored both images with Stampin' Write Markers and an aqua painter. The flower image was cut out with paper snips and attached to the main image with Stampin' Dimensionals for a 3D effect.
- The bee was also stamped with Jet Black Stazon and colored in with So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker. I added Iridescent Ice to the wings. I then cut it out and attached it to the side of the flower with a Stampin' Dimensional.
- The layer next to the base card was run through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder. I just love the latest folder from Stampin' Up! It is so spring like!
- I used the decorative Scallop Trim Border Punch (which is FREE during the Sale-a-Bration promotion) on the bottom of both layers to give a dainty lacy look.
Bird House:
- I fed a piece of Perfect Plum card stock through the Big Shot using the Milk Carton Die. After assembling it and closing the top, I added the roof using Perfect Plum Patterns Designer Series Paper and Pale Plum Card Stock.
- The faux opening in the bird house was made using the Circle Punch. The bird, wings and branches were made using the Two Step Bird House. The heart above the bid was punched using the Small Heart punch from the Occasions Mini.
- To give the bird a little character, I added a small rhinestone for his eye.
