1st Day of Summer!

By | June 13, 2011

Hi Stampers

Opener
My granddaughter finished pre-K on 8 June 2011.  She spent the next day with me and all day she kept saying, "It's the first day of summer – when are we going swimming!"  I vaguely said, "soon"!  Because (1) I don't like the pool water, (2) I don't like the sun, and (3) I don't like the heat (it's  85 degrees today).  I'll leave that type of excursion to her Mom!  My thing is to take her shopping or to the movies.

This card is for her.  The stamp set is called Sunny Funand it's from the Summer Mini Catalog.  Who doesn't love flip flops, ice cream treats, and fun in the sun? This meltingly delicious summer stamp set has them all! Perfect for pool party invitations, ice cream bashes, birthdays, and scrapbook pages, this set captures the spirit of summer.

I think this set is so cute and I decided to pair it with the Play Date Designer Series Paperwhich will retire on 30 June 2011.  The little kids were stamped with Jet Black Stazon on Whisper White Card Stock and colored in using the bright colors of the DSP (Real Red, Crumb Cake, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive and So Saffron) Stampin' Write Markers.

The background is strips of Play Date DSP (1" x 4").  I finished the card off with the Real Red 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon which will also retire on 30 June 2011.

 Thanks for stopping by today!
